During the studio photography masterclass workshops, students had the opportunity to work in a professional studio environment within the art department allowing them many opportunities to explore lighting techniques. Starting with basic lighting techniques, the course allowed students to develop their control of lighting to enhance their studio photography with a particular focus on contemporary portrait. Students also had the opportunity to develop their post production techniques using Photoshop to edit their images. These classes were led by Kay Gardiner, an artist in residence within a variety of primary and secondary school across Berkshire who’s passion lies in using traditional photographic techniques to create contemporary images using a combination of composition, subject matter and image manipulation
