As part of Open Studios, nineteen enthusiastic year 7’s took part in the life drawing class led by artist Anne Noble Partridge. Drawing from a real model, students tried experimental techniques that are usually introduced in 6th form. Some of these activities included drawing not looking at the paper, continuous line drawing with right, then left hand, and gradients of tone using charcoal and a rubber. One student commented: 
‘The class taught me not to have a fixed image of what art is, and the techniques used should give me confidence and creative ideas in class work and homework.’

The students faced each task with maturity and interest, and the day was enjoyed by all.
