The main feature of Artsweek in the Music Department was the week-long contribution  of the African Trio 'Ibile'  Ibile means 'the children of the earth, sons and daughters of the land'. 'Ibile' is one of the leading pioneers in bringing African arts to an educational workshop setting. The members of the group have extensive national and international workshop experience in percussion, songs,   drama and storytelling. They are rich with knowledge and experiences and draw on the diversity of traditions and cultures of Africa.

'Ibile' features authentic African instruments in their repertoire, including African drums, kora, agidigbo, mbira, wiya, flute, shekere, agogo and goje.

The members of the group are:-

Adesose Wallace-Drumming workshops and traditional songs
Ladi Aganga-Williams-African stories, songs and dancing
Seikoba Susso-Kora music with songs and stories from The Gambia.
