Drama is taught throughout the year, for one hour each week, to every student from Years 7 - 9. The students are taught a broad curriculum designed to give them a practical understanding of theatre, develop their presentation, communication and critical skills as well as acting as a bridge to the GCSE course should they choose to take it.

The students are assessed in the following four areas each term:
  • Creating 
  • Performing 
  • Written Response 
  • Spoken Response 

    The students use the marks given (each is marked out of 8) to set their own targets. Cards explaining how they achieved their grade and what they can do to move up to the next level are supplied to the students.
