Key Stage 3 Overview

Dance is delivered through a PE programme in Year 7,8 and 9. Lessons are currently timetabled for seven hours during the year. Those students who do not opt for a second language also have a term of dance through the ‘extra arts’ programme.

The unit of work covers the following topics:
Study of a set professional dance work
A set technical study

Workshops are arranged throughout the year when professional artists will work with groups of students. Strong links have been created with the Wiltshire Youth Arts who often deliver workshops.

Students are encouraged to form links with the local community taking part in dance events in the area.
