For centuries people have passed stories down through generations by word of mouth. Stories have developed from fairytales to urban myths; with the Internet we now have the opportunity to develop stories from lots of people and compose a really exciting story.
As a year group we are going to produce a short story by using the Internet, each class will compose a new paragraph until we have completed the whole story. It will become a competition in some respects as we can only have one new paragraph for each class, but everyone has to compose a new paragraph and send it to their teacher (You can find their email address on the STAFF page).
ITS EASY
Read through the opening paragraph below and write the next paragraph. However you must only do this when you are told to do so by your teacher, otherwise you will not be in the competition for your class. If the paragraphs are of outstanding quality then we may be able to have a couple of stories running at the same time!!
So, get creating we cant wait to read your fascinating and original contributions!
November frost had starched the flat countryside into silent rigidity. The rat-tat-tat of the tractors exhaust drilled into the clean, hard air but did not penetrate it; each staccato sound broke off as if it had been ripped. Hunched over the drivers wheel sat Kelly, the owner, a rock of a man with a huge head and broken fingernails, and in the trailer behind were his four potato gatherers two young men, permanent farm hands, and the two boys he had hired for the day. At six oclock in the morning, they were the only living things in that part of County Tyrone.
