Year 7 – Summer Term (second half) |
This half term, Year 7 students will be completing a Drama and Theatre module in their English lessons.
This will involve:
Reading some plays in class
Writing scenes of their own
What you can do at home:
Some students find it quite difficult to write scenes of their own. Help them with this and then act them out!
Have a family trip to the theatre
Students will probably only manage to read two short plays in class. A good extra homework task is to read lots more plays – the school library has quite a good selection.
Some students enjoy playwriting and might like to explore this more independently. Encourage students to write a whole play and remind them to share it with their English teacher.
Every half term English students will be asked to complete a compulsory homework task on the computer, either at home or at school, and then
email their work to their English teacher.
This half term students will be asked to design a poster or programme for a play. Further details can be found on the homework page.
