IT HOMEWORKS
It is both school and department policy to ensure that at least once a half term students are set an ICT (Infomation and Communication Technology) homework so that they can hone their computing skills through a variety of tasks. We are fully aware that abilities and access to computers range tremendously and as such the homeworks are designed to challenge competent users and encourage those who use computers less. There are evermore computers becoming available at school for those without access to a pc/mac at home and so every child is capable of producing good quality work.
Occasionally class time will be allowed for students to work on their ICT homework, but it is safe to assume that this will ordinarily be entirely independent study. We hope that students use this as an opportunity to show their teacher of what they are capable. The homeworks will be set over a period of time, allowing students to develop their work to a level of which they are proud. They should feel free to ask their teacher for help either through the email or in class.
Students should make sure they have a copy of their work on file and that they don't delete it!
Mac users
At presents all the computers at school are pcs. Work produced by Mac users should be either uploaded onto a website and the URL sent to the teacher at their email address or work should be printed off and handed to the teacher in class. Hopefully one day it will all be fully compatible!
