LANGUAGE EXAM

Please refer to the EXAM link to ensure you know all you need to about this exam. You should really be reading a variety of literature genres, i.e. daily newspapers, poetry, information leaflets, fiction and non fiction in order to prepare yourself for the first section of the paper.

It is very important to make sure you revise for this section of the paper as much as the set poetry and set text.

SET POET

You will have been given an ANTHOLOGY at the beginning of the GCSE course. This book will make up a great deal of the worl you will need to study for your exam - both in the Literature and Language exams.

Individual teachers will choose a poet from the first section of the antholgy - it will be a choice between:

POEMS FROM OTHER CULTURES AND TRADITIONS

These poems explore the emotions and feelings experienced by people who have grown up in cultures or with traditions which differ from ours in some way. There are quite a lot of them, so you are likely to spend some time on them over the two years. Here is a taster of these poems and some useful links which will enable you to organise your revision
