ICT COMPULSORY HOMEWORK: NON FICTION

Find an advert on the world wide web, copy and paste it to a Word document, resize it, so that it fits the page nicely, then write a few lines about the advert

This task will show your teacher that you have a good understanding of what an advert is, it will also illustrate your knowledge of target audience and purpose.

First you will need to use the links below to choose an advert - or find your own.

Bennetton ad parodyCalvin Klein ads Unofficial Archive A very large collection of ad pictures, categorized by model name and by type of product. These are spoof adverts and don’t really exist, they are mimicking the original adverts.

Got Milk? The popular US advertising series of milky mustaches on famous faces.

Levi Strauss, & Co. Compare their historical and current ads for that quintessentially American pop fashion icon, “jeans.”

Once you have found the advert that you like, (remember to be imaginative, your teacher will have to see maybe 60 peoples’ choices!) copy it and paste it into a Word document. Underneath the advert write a short comment about the advert itself.

• Where did you find it?
• Why do you like it?
• Who is its target audience, how can you tell this?
• What advertising strategies is it using?
• Do you think it is a successful advert? Why?

Once you have completed all of this you need to email it to your teacher with your name and homework title in the subject box.
