Foreign Trip 2002

Stunning mountains, impressive scenery, friendly people – what could make a more beautiful place to visit than Nepal? Last year’s fantastic trip had a group of students trekking amongst some of the most stunning scenery in the world, time for relaxing in the beautiful wildlife parks and even a chance to fly around Mount Everest. One of the highlights of the last visit was a trip to our link school in Nepal. On that visit students at Theale Green gave money towards Science equipment which was much appreciated by the school.

For a small group of the current year 11s there is the prospect of spending a month travelling in an exotic foreign land during August 2002. We are currently researching possible destinations that will match or better our experiences in Nepal. Again we hope to visit a school, trek and explore new landscapes. Miss Elson will be a new member of staff on this trip joining Miss Moulder and Mr. Webster.

HARRY POTTER CLUB

Harry Potter fans met every Monday throughout the year. We enjoyed talking about the books and involved ourselves in a variety of activities that explored the stories; we produced a board game, wrote stories and book reviews and discussed the eagerly anticipated ‘Harry Potter’ movie.

Next year promises to be an even more exciting year. With interest in the club growing and the incoming year seven, we hope to develop houses based on the stories and start the year with a ‘Sorting Ceremony.’ Whilst learning to fly might be a little over ambitious, we would like to continue creating exciting and enjoyable activities to help us revel in the delights of J K Rowling’s characters.
