On Wednesday 13 December the sixth form of Theale Green School held their annual Christmas Party for the more senior citizens of Theale. This year we saw the attendance of a number of guests from the Duchess of Kent Hospice, one of the school’s charities. More than 100 guests were welcomed and entertained by some 250 students. The afternoon began with the customary game of bingo, followed by a cabaret. This included the school band playing Christmas classics, both old and new, and the year 12 Theatre Studies group’s own interpretation of what Christmas means to them. After a seasonal tea of mince pies and as much Yule log as you could eat, the highlight of the afternoon was the community carol singing where the guests certainly outshone the students in their actions to the 12 Days of Christmas!
A
great afternoon was rounded off by the visit of Father Christmas – booked
especially early this year to avoid the rush!
