Theale Designs just miss out in

National ‘Young Enterprise’ Final.

A group of year 12 Theale Green Community School students, Theale Designs, have just missed the top award for the Young Enterprise National Final in London.

Theale Designs, a web design company, won through from the whole of the Reading area, Berkshire area and Southeast of England to claim their place in the final.

The finals were held at the Savoy Hotel in London at the end of July. Twelve teams competed for the honour and competition was fierce from the outset.

Each team had to plan and manage a trade stand, undertake a panel interview with judges from various large companies and present themselves to an audience of over 500 guests, where Theale Designs had to complete a presentation about the company.

Theale Designs, under the direction of Miss Munby, consists of students Ann Oldroyd, David Lee, Tim Christopher, Tom McCourt, Linda Mackie and Matthew Tucker. They all worked incredibly hard over the three-day event and performed an outstanding presentation in the presence of Education Secretary Estelle Morris.

Unfortunately the team just missed out on the coveted 1st place and had to settle for fourth.

Although they were disappointed with the final result the team enjoyed the final and its ceremony immensely.
