Congratulations to the web team for a smart and comprehensive view of life at Theale Green Community School" (Eduweb, l6/04/2001)

Just before the end of term, we were pleased to learn that the school website had been chosen as Eduweb's 'School Site of the Week' over the Easter period. A number of staff spend many hours outside the classroom, often at home, preparing materials for the website and it is very gratifying that their endeavours have been recognised in this small, but significant way. If you have not seen what they wrote about us, you can still do so by clicking here.

Recent editions to the website include

Numeracy Section  dealing with the way Theale Green is implementing the National Numeracy Strategy,

An A-level Revision Page with useful links for the older students preparing for their summer exams,

A University Section with links to all the universities, as well as to the unofficial guides which give the

real low-down on these academic institutions!

There is also a new Careers Section with links to some excellent sites giving advice and information on all sorts of careers.

The Primary School Pages continue to grow. If you have younger children at home, they might find material here that is both enjoyable and educational.

There have also been considerable additions to the History, English, Technology, Drama, Music and Languages pages.

With the gradual introduction of broadband technology in the country at large (and very soon at Theale Green) video will play an ever-increasing role on the Intemet. Recent videos on the school website include one of Benyon House Evening, available in two formats on the Benyon House page. The Red Nose Day charity event, when several male members of staff agreed to have their heads shaved for the cause, has also been recorded on video, to their eternal embarrassment! The Former Students page increases almost daily and has been the catalyst for several reunions of past students.

Look out for the new Arts Week section later this term and do drop in to the school website frequently as there are always new things to see.

A painless way to give to the school charity

The school website has become an associate of Amazon.co.uk, the online bookstore. Every time you link to the store from the school site and subsequently buy a book, video, audio cassette, etc. the school will receive a small commission fee. This will be added to the school charity fund. So look for the Amazon.co.uk link on the bottom of the Welcome Page or click below and thank you in advance for your contribution to the school charity when buying your  presents.
