Piper House

The House has missed Mr. Upton who has been away for most of last term. We are pleased to see him back this term fit and well and must thank Miss Wadland for all her help as Acting Deputy Head of House last term.

We had to admit defeat to Benyon in the P.T.A. skittles match but we’ll be back next year.

Nevertheless the sixth form were pleased to run a highly successful 70’s House Evening, with guest appearances by Englefield Primary and various members of staff. The money raised was shared between the School Charity and the House.

We would like to thank the outgoing Senior Prefects and Captains for all their help and hard work; Tamsin Johnson, Hollie Knight, Donald Hanson, Matthew Chishick, Lisa Emes. Claire Hallmey, Claire Husbands, Leigh Sheppard, Daniel Fisher, Emma Mutters and Lara Vasey. The P.T.A treated them to a meal out for the help and support they had given to the House.

We wish the new team every success for next year and we are particularly pleased that both the Head boy, Adam McCaig and the Head Girl, Beth Sheehan are from Piper House.

Benyon House
 – Ben Gen

Another great term for the staff and students in Benyon House! The beginning of February gave us the opportunity to show what a talented house we really are with our annual House Evening. Well done to those that took part and helped on the night ; a very successful and enjoyable evening was had by all. During March, our champion ice skater John Horne (10Ba), took part in the Junior World Challenge Cup in Switzerland. John’s team, Ice Metrics, managed to finish a creditable 11th ;  congratulations to John and all his team-mates. Well done to Tom Penley (10Bc) for winning the Alphabet Cup and 7Ba, 8Ba and 9Ba for winning the House Credit/Merit Mark competitions.

Finally we must bid farewell to our Year 13 prefects who have now passed on their responsibilities to the year 12s. Benyon House would like to express their thanks for all their hard work over the year. Congratulations to our new prefects who are: Jo Prentice (House Captain), Nick Houchin (Vice Captain), Simon Edmondson, Alex Adams, Jo Baker and Hannah Atkinson (Games Captains), Will Adcock, Gayle Barnes, Michael Beakhouse, Andrew Derrig, Graeme Firth, Andrew Wintie and John Woods (Senior Prefects), Julie Barnay, Emily Bates, Sam Bates, Sarah Gallagher, Laura Parrot, Elliot Knaggs, Kate Reeves and Daniel Shannon (House Prefects).
