COMMUNITY QUILT BEGINS TO TAKE SHAPE

Theale Village Community Quilt for the Millennium is beginning to take shape, after many members of the local community have begun attending the monthly sessions at Theale Green Community School.

Many  voluntary groups are showing interest in the quilt which aims to represent the historical development of Theale village from the earliest records of settlement in the area.  Different aspects of this development aim to be depicted by the patchwork quilt technique which allows each participant to add their own design and interpretation to the overall scheme.

Our picture shows the patchwork quilt teacher Marion Scott-Baker (left) and Carol Stevenson with the first finished examples of individual squares for the patchwork.

The Theale group is still very keen to hear from anyone who would like to get involved.  Please ring 0118 9308501 for more details.
