The Aims and Objectives of the R.E. Department

 

It is the aim of the department to assist in fulfilling section 1 of the Education Reform Act which refers to the promotion of spiritual , moral and cultural development of pupils, as well as complying with the guidelines in the Berkshire Agreed Syllabus (revised 2000)

 

bulletto encourage an enquiring, studious and enthusiastic approach to learning
 
bulletto encourage a moral and spiritual awareness of the spiritual dimensions of life as part of the whole school programme
 
bulletto encourage students to consider themselves as part of a global community and to understand something of that community’s rich diversity of belief and culture
 
bulletto encourage personal reflection on religious and ethical issues
 
bulletto develop in the pupils skills to live within this community with understanding and tolerance
bulletto offer a variety of teaching and learning styles to enable students of all abilities and learning preferences to achieve their potential in the subject.
